One had on a very expensive engagement ring, wedding ring, and aniversay ring ( total 20 grand ? ) plus a nice necklace ( another grand or so ?).
Two women came into Arthur's Club in NYC last Saturday night (2:30am). They could go to jail for a nice piece of COSTUME jewelry ! If it is a place like a casino they usually won't strike at random. And they like places where lots of people are wearing expensive stuff. They take Jewlery at exits, escalators, etc. They are more comfortable taking a wallet because cash cant be identified. īut Jewlery crooks do not like crowds for slight of hand theft of jewlery. It is supposed to call attention to how nice the picture ( or person ) looks not how much it costs. I've seen some awlful looking 'expensive ' jewelry ! Jewlery is like a frame.
Good costume jewlery does that just as well as items costing over $1000. Some wear Jewlery it to compliment their oufit or look. It is easy to lose or have stolen in such a place. Some people wear jewlery to show how 'rich' they are. It IS foolish to wear expensive Jewlery to a casino or hotel room.
